Vacancy: Process Server
We are looking for a Process Server to join our network of private investigators.
We work across the UK so are open to applications from any location.
As a Process Server you will be required to make door-to-door enquiries and to deliver or serve legal documents to a defendant or person involved in a court case. As such, you will often deal with individuals who will not necessarily be receptive to your enquiries. It is essential, therefore, that you are not easily offended, intimidated or deterred.
Essential for a Process Server is the ability to communicate effectively and professionally. You must be able to remain calm and neutral to ensure difficult situations do not escalate. You must be able to deal with difficult situations while remaining inside the parameters of the law.
You must have good reporting skills (both written and verbal) to ensure your reports can stand up in a court of law. You must also have tact and diplomacy as well as discretion. The ability to handle sensitive situations and information, in a confidential manner, is essential.
Ideally, you will have previous experience as a process server or have a police or military background, but this is not essential.
Good IT skills and access to a computer are essential, as is a full driver’s licence and access to your own transport.
Please be aware, this is a zero-hours based position which will be ideally suited to those with the flexibility to be mobilised at short notice. It will involve the need to make house calls mid to late evenings/early mornings and weekends. As such, it would be ideal for someone without personal commitments.
This is not a salaried position; instead, you will be paid an agreed amount per job. Mileage will be paid if there is a need to travel out of area.
The role of a Process Server is not for the faint-hearted; a sense of humour goes a long way!
